What are fast carbohydrates?
Fast carbohydrates are carbohydrates that are quickly absorbed by your body. After a hard workout, your body needs carbohydrates to repair your muscles. You can of course use complex carbohydrates like oatmeal, but these are not as quickly absorbed as, for example, our Waxy Maze. This is a post-workout shake that is largely made from amylopectin, which dissolves well in water, or a sports drink very quickly absorbed by your body. Fast carbohydrates can be found in products such as white rice, white pasta and white bread. You can also find these fast carbohydrates in sweet products such as cakes, sweets and ice cream. Of course, these products are not always as convenient, or healthy, to consume around your strength training.
