What is ashwagandha?
Ashwagandha is a traditional plant species mainly found in India and has been used in Ayurveda, a traditional medicine, for thousands of years because of its benefits.
The roots of Ashwagandha contain several alkaloids including the main component: withanolides (standardized to 2.5%). These are steroids with a similar effect to Panax Ginseng, which is why ashwagandha is also called Indian ginseng.
The effect of ashwagandha has not been very well proven in scientific research, but there are countless positive experiences with ashwagandha among athletes and people who simply want to improve their well-being.
When buying ashwagandha you want to make sure that you take an extract that is dosed high enough. Research has shown that a dose of approximately 500 milligrams of ashwagandha is completely safe and this dose is more effective than 250 milligrams. Ashwagandha use therefore has no disadvantages or side effects with this recommended dose and is not dangerous to take. Ashwagandha can be used by both men and women.
Use and dosage
Each capsule contains 500mg of ashwagandha powder and is preferably taken with a meal.
The veggie caps make the product suitable for both vegetarians and vegans.
